Srinagar, Dec 3 (KNS) : Srinagar Police organized Cyber Jagrukta Diwas ( Cyber Awareness Day ) across all Police Stations and subordinate units with the objective of empowering citizens with essential knowledge about cyber security, the rising trends in online crimes, and the mechanisms available for reporting and prevention.
As part of this initiative, awareness programmes were conducted simultaneously in various Police Stations, where officers briefed the public about different forms of cyber crimes such as financial frauds, phishing, identity theft, online blackmail, cyberbullying, and misuse of social media platforms.
Citizens were sensitized about the importance of strong digital hygiene, secure passwords, two-factor authentication, and verifying online links before sharing personal details or conducting transactions.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Participants were also educated on the step-by-step procedure for registering cyber complaints through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and helpline services.
Officers highlighted the rapid increase in technology-driven crimes and emphasized the need for collective vigilance, responsible online behaviour, and timely reporting to help law enforcement respond effectively.
The public appreciated the efforts of Srinagar Police for taking such a proactive approach toward cyber safety.
