Srinagar Police Conducts Raids in Natipora

 Srinagar,  Dec 06(KNS): Srinagar Police conducted a raid in Natipora as part of efforts to dismantle a network involved in spreading fabricated and malicious narratives aimed at inciting unlawful and violent activities.

The raid was part of an ongoing investigation into case FIR No. 65/2024 under section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act at PS Shergarhi. The investigation focuses on individuals who, in conspiracy with adversaries, have been involved in manufacturing and spreading false information to provoke violence and disrupt public order.

Following the acquisition of search warrants from the NIA Court, police raided the residence of Abdul Hamid Parry, a resident of Budshah Nagar, Natipora. During the raid, incriminating materials and electronic devices were seized. Last week, the police also conducted raids in Batmaloo and HMT areas, targeting two individuals—Obais Riyaz Dar of Bonpora Batmaloo and Sahil Ah Bhat of HMT Zainakot—who were identified as key figures in spreading unlawful narratives.

The J&K Police has urged the public, especially youth, to be cautious and responsible while using social media platforms. Citizens have been advised not to share or upload content that could promote false narratives and incite violence.

Further raids are planned as part of the ongoing investigation. The public is encouraged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and preventing the spread of harmful information.(KNS).
