Srinagar Police Attaches Property of Notorious Drug Peddler Valued at 75 Lakhs

Srinagar, Nov 28 (KNS) : In a major action against the illegal narcotics trade, Srinagar Police today attached a double-storey residential house along with 4 marlas of land, valued at approximately ?75 lakhs, under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The property is located in Usmania Colony, Badamwari, Lal Bazar, and stands in the name of Arshid Ahmed Sheikh, son of Wali Mohammad Sheikh, resident of the same locality. The accused is a habitual drug peddler and is involved in FIR No. 50/2025 under Sections 8 and 20 NDPS Act at Police Station Lal Bazar and FIR No. 31/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act at Police Station Janipur, Jammu.

During the investigation, it was established that the asset had been acquired through proceeds generated from drug trafficking.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAccordingly, the competent authority issued orders for attachment under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.

The attachment was executed in the presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Khanyar, and two independent witnesses, ensuring full compliance with legal formalities. As per the order, the owner is now prohibited from selling, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the said property.
