Srinagar Police attaches assets worth ₹2 cr in NDPS crackdown

 Srinagar, May 30 (KNS): Continuing its offensive against the narcotics trade under the ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan’, Srinagar Police has attached immovable properties valued at approximately ?2 crore belonging to two alleged drug peddlers.

 
In the first action, police attached a double-storey residential house along with four marlas of land at Firdous Colony, Bemina, worth around ?1.5 crore. The property belongs to Mudasir Ahmad Pir alias Sahil alias Doge, a resident of the same locality. Officials said the attachment was carried out under Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act following confirmation from the competent authority of SAFEMA, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
 
In a separate operation, police attached a residential house and land valued at about ?Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel50 lakh belonging to Shafiq Ahmad Khawaja of Dildar Karnah, Kupwara district. The action was taken under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 10/2024 registered at Police Station M.R. Gunj under Sections 8/21-29 of the Act.
 
Official sources said both properties were found to have been acquired through proceeds generated from illicit narcotics trafficking, with all legal procedures duly followed.
 
Srinagar Police reiterated its resolve to dismantle the financial backbone of drug networks and urged citizens to share information on narcotics activities in their areas. (KNS)
