Exhorts youth to be the Ambassadors of Change

Banihal July 12 (KNS): Envisioning crucial role for youth to steering Jammu and Kashmir out of the present morass, National Conference leader and district president, Ramban Sajjad Shaheen today said that the people feel dejected by the bureaucratic rule and abject failure of the present dispensation on every front in Jammu and Kashmir. 

 While addressing youth gatherings during the prize distribution ceremony of Final match of Volleyball tournament organised by  Sarpanch Tajnihal Tanveer Ahmed Katoch and Chairman Sports Academy Aijaz Ahmed Katoch held at  Batroo Ukharhal in Banihal constituency, Shaheen called upon the youth to become agents of change and said that the State is passing through very difficult times as the youth of the erstwhile State are being pushed against the wall and it is the youth who have an important and a valuable role to play in addressing some of the most significant and inter related challenges faced by the people.

The district president said that the vision less policies of the present dispensation have brought the State at the volatile cross roads of history where nothing is visible except hopelessness, uncertainty and fear.

Lauding the organising committee for organizing such a mega event, Shaheen exuded confidence that it will help in achieving the objective of the overall development of youngsters and generate awareness among them about the need for sports personality development.

The District President exhorted youngsters to put in their best and strive for excellence in play-fields without compromising their academics. He appreciated the enthusiasm of young volleyball players and hoped with dint of determination they will make mark in various competitions.

 
Sajjad Shaheen has urged upon the LG Administration to prioritise the need of raising sports infrastructure and various sports equipment in rural areas which will facilitate the participation and enhance the skills of sports persons from J&K. He said that the youth of district Ramban is blessed with lot of potential and talent which needs to be properly groomed so that they can compete at national and international level for which the stakeholders have to play a key role in not only identifying such talent but help in achieving the objective of overall development of youngsters and generate awareness among them about the need of sports in their development.
 

Shaheen said that Jammu and Kashmir does not lack talent but the need is only to identify and sharpen it. He said that sports are not only imperative for mental and physical growth of the children but it opens up vistas of opportunities to them as far as career is concerned. In this context, he referred to various big names, who have made their mark in different sports as professionals.
