Special mobile court Anantnag convicts two accused persons, awards 3 year imprisonment

Srinagar, Dec 29 (KNS): Court of special mobile magistrate Anantnag on Wednesday convicted two persons and awarded three years of imprisonment to them for cheating a person on the pretext of providing MBBS seat in a college in Karnataka.

According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), court of Special Mobile Magistrate Anantnag convicted two accused persons namely Muzaffar Ahmad Khan and Fayaz Ahmad Bhat—both residents of Anantnag U/S 420, 120-B-RPC with punishment of 03 years and fine of RS. 5000/- each, in case FIR No. 25/2005 of Police Station Crime Branch Kashmir.

The statement reads that the brief facts of the case are that Crime Branch Kashmir received a written complaint from one Ali Mohammad Dar of Bijbehara Anantnag alleging therein that one Fayaz Ahmad Bhat of Anantnag and other motivated him for paying Rs 15.30 lacs for the purpose of arranging MBBS seat for his son namely Rameez Ali Dar in MRI College Gulbarge Karnatka. 

It reads that neither MBBS seat was arranged, nor the amount was repaid to them. “Enquiry conducted into the matter revealed that Fayaz Ahmad in connivance with Muzaffar Ahmad Khan cheated the complaint for wrongful gain for himself and his associate,” it reads.

It reads that on receiving this information, a case FIR No. 25/2005 U/S 420, 120-B-RPC was registered in Crime Branch Kashmir and investigation was set into motion. 

The statement reads that on completion of investigation, charge-sheet was filled before the court against the accused persons and consequently both the accused were convicted today. (KNS)
