Srinagar June 04 (KNS): As part of a special drive to ensure the quality of food products available in the market on the eve of Eid, the Food Safety Team Srinagar carried out intensive market inspections across Srinagar city. The inspections covered various areas, including, Zanakot Industrial Area,Shaltan, Lalbazar, Hazratbal Area
During the inspections, a significant quantity of expired ghee was seized from a manufacturing unit at Zanakot Industrial Area.
Approximately 110 kgs of expired ghee was confiscated, and a case will be registered against the Food Business Operator (FBO) under the relevant rules and regulations of the Food Safety and Standards Act.
All Food Business Operators, including manufacturers, retailers, and wholesalers, are warned to refrain from violating any provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelFailure to comply with the regulations will result in action being taken against defaulters, which can even lead to the closure of their facilities. No compromise with the quality of food items will be tolerated.
The Food Safety Department Srinagar will continue to conduct regular inspections in Srinagar city to ensure compliance with food safety norms. The department is committed to protecting public health by ensuring that all food products meet the highest safety standards.
