Srinagar, July 28 (KNS): Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and MLA Chrar-i-Sharief, Ab Rahim Rather, has directed Budgam district administration to ensure smooth arrangements for the annual Urs of Hazrat Syed Ali Aali Balkhi (RA) at Pakherpora, starting August 6, 2025.

The celebrations will begin with the traditional Poshak Bandi (laying of the sacred chadar) on August 6, followed by Shab Khawani (night-long prayers) on August 8. The main Urs will be observed on August 9, and the week-long festivities will conclude the following Friday.

Rather instructed officials to make foolproof arrangements for pilgrims, including adequate transport from Budgam and Pulwama, traffic management, uninterrupted power and water supply, and round-the-clock tanker services.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe also called for additional ration supplies for locals, cleanliness drives in and around the shrine by the Yousmarg Development Authority and Wakf Board, and deployment of extra sanitation workers.

The Roads and Buildings (R&B) and PMGSY departments have been told to repair and blacktop roads leading to Pakherpora at the earliest. The Health Department will set up 24x7 Medicare facilities at the Sub-District Hospital, Pakherpora, with ambulances and first-aid booths along the route.(KNS)
