Srinagar, September 29 (KNS): A meeting of the Press Advisory Committee (PAC) was held under the chairmanship of Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr. Kavinder Gupta here today to review the arrangements for the smooth coverage of the proceedings of autumn session 2015.
Speaking at the meeting, the Speaker called for objective reporting of the proceedings of the session commencing from October 03, 2015.
The Speaker sought cooperation from the print and electronic media in highlighting the issues of public interest which will be raised by the legislators in the House.
Threadbare discussions were held on providing all facilities to the print and electronic media, issuance of entry passes, seating arrangements in Press Gallery, parking of vehicles, Canteen facilities etc.
Mr. Gupta said that though it is a short session every political party will be given due time to raise issues of public interest.
While responding to the demands of accommodation facilities for Jammu based media persons, the Speaker said that suitable accommodation will be provided to the media persons on priority basis.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Regarding the live telecast of the session, the Secretary of Legislative Assembly informed that no media agencies will be allowed to telecast or broadcast the proceedings of the House live, however, the TV Channels can telecast the deferred live.
Director General Information and Public Relations, Mr. Zaffar Ahmed Bhat gave details about the arrangements put in place for the print and electronic media representatives. He further said that the Information department will also coordinate the print/electronic media during the session for smooth proceedings of forthcoming Autumn Session.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Assembly M Ramzan, Head of Regional News Unit (RNU), DDK, Srinagar, Mr. Shafeeq Ahmed, Head of Regional News Unit (RNU) of Radio Kashmir Srinagar, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed Tantray and representatives from various print and electronic media organizations besides other senior officers of Assembly Secretariat.
