SP Pulwama inaugurates Women Help Desk at Police Station Litter and Kakapora

Srinagar,  April-12 (KNS): To help the women in distress  SP Pulwama Ashish Mishra inaugurated the Women Help Desk in Police Station Litter and Police Station Kakapora, Pulwama.

He was accompanied by SDPO Litter Furqan Qadir , SHOs of Police Station Litter, Kakapora and other officers of the District. 


The main aim to establish the Women Help Desk is to provide adequate attention and help to women victims especially for those who hesitate to visit any Police Station with their grievances, a statement issued to KNS reads.


"The Women Help Desk will help in protecting the rights of the women / girls and would cater the need of women who face violence and encourage women to file complaints without any hesitation," it said.


Speaking on the occasions, SP Pulwama said that the crime against the women is one of the gravest violation of human rights and that the victims often experience a sense of emotional numbness that could result in her taking drastic and fatal decisions. 


SP Pulwama also interacted with the officers of Women help Desk and directed them to work with enthusiasm and maintain professional integrity while addressing the grievances reported to them.(KNS)
