Sopore, Feb 6 (KNS): National Conference MLA from Sopore, Irshad Rasool Kar, on Friday welcomed the announcement of North Kashmir’s first Ayurvedic Medical College at Amargarh, Sopore, terming it a “historic and happy moment” for the town.
Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) on the sidleness of Budget session Assembly, Kar thanked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, recalling his election promise to pay special attention to Sopore. The MLA expressed confidence that all promises made in the manifesto would be fulfilled within five years, adding that welfare initiatives would gradually extend from the IAY (Indira Awaas Yojana) to BPL (Below Poverty Line) and general categories.
He stated that the budget has focused on key sectors, including education, health, gas cylinders, horticulture, and agriculture, with adequate financial support. This, he noted, would bring relief to people across Sopore and North Kashmir. (KNS)
