Sopore, Nov 25 (KNS) : Sopore Police successfully solved a theft case within 24 hours of its reporting and recovered the stolen property from the accused individuals.

Police Post Bus Stand Sopore received an application from Maqbool Rahman Beigh, R/O Model Town, stating that unknown persons had stolen utensils from his residence. Accordingly, Case FIR No. 260/2025 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation was initiated.

During the investigation, several suspects were rounded up and examined. During this process, one suspect—
• Shabir Ahmad Sheikh, S/O Ab Hamid Sheikh, R/O Model Town D— was questioned and he admitted his involvement in the theft. He disclosed that part of the stolen property had been concealed at Cooperative Baagh Sopore, while some items had been sold to another individual.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelActing on this disclosure, Sopore Police effected a successful recovery from the identified location.

Further investigation led to the questioning of another suspect—
• Waseem Nabi Wani, R/O Model Town D—
who admitted to having received stolen items from Shabir Ahmad Sheikh. Based on his disclosure, additional stolen property was recovered from his residence.

Sopore Police reaffirmed its commitment to prompt investigation, swift action and protection of public property. The investigation is ongoing and further legal proceedings have been set into motion.(KNS)
