Srinagar, June 09 (KNS): Government Thursday admitted that some in former chief minister Omar Abdullah’s Beerwah constituency are facing shortage of water.
“There is no serious water scarcity in Beerwah constituency. However, there is a shortage of water in some villages/habitations,” Minister for PHE and IFC Sham Lal Choudhary informed the Lower House in a written reply to the question of Omar Abdullah, the legislator from Beerwah.
The minister said that for redressal of this shortage, work on 12 water supply schemes is under progress under NRDWP.
“Apart from that three Water Supply Schemes have been approved by District Development Board recently under District Sector with NABARD loan assistance,” the minister said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The minister said that Water supply scheme Sukhnag, falling in the jurisdiction of Water Supply Master Plan-II Srinagar, stands commissioned in September last year.
The minister said that villages including, Warapora, Haran, Dharmuna, Soibugh, Sebdan, Reshipora, Doru, Chowdribagh, Galwanpora, Rakhi Harkemulla, Narkara, Batahar, Sheikhpora, Damodar karewa, Humhama, Khuani Chowk, Bemina, Khwaja Bagh, Dondusa, Harkemulla, Rakhi Arth, Dal Dewellers, Zainakote, Watalpora, Gund Hassi Bhat, Lawaypora and Sozeth Gooripora Baginder and Gurteng fall in the scope of Water Supply Scheme Sukhnag.
