Jammu, Nov 25 (KNS): The Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Dilbagh Singh on Thursday said that some people are looking at the killers as innocent people.

While responding to a question about Mehbooba Mufti’s aspersions about Rambagh encounter, Singh during a press conference at Jammu said that some people deliberately try to ignore the reality and give statements which are far from reality and these people have started to look at the killers as innocent people.

As per Kashmir News Service (KNS), Singh, while replying to a question regarding Hyderpora encounter, said that there is no doubt that some civilians were killed during the encounter but after that dozens of successful anti-militancy operations were carried out and over 20 militants have been neutralized.

He said that the Police have killed all the militants who were involved in the targeted killings of civilians and that is a commendable work.

Singh said that only one militant namely Basit involved in civilian killings is still alive, but soon he will also be neutralized.

Singh also said that the investigation is in progress and it has been found that there is a millitant network around Basit who are supporting him in militant activities.

He said that SIT has been constituted to probe the facts about Hyderpora encounter but I can say with authority that the Police is doing their work professionally and every officer knows how to handle anti-militancy operations.

DGP also said that narco-militant network is being run by Pakistan to sell contraband substances and use the money for pumping more militancy in the region.

He said that the narco trade money is being sent to Kashmir for carrying out militant activities.

Singh said that there have been some reports coming that drones are being used by Pakistan to smuggle narcotics to J&K. “During investigation, a huge inter-state drug mafia has been unearthed, following which the Jammu and Kashmir police geared up and foiled all the smuggling bids,” he said.

He also said that their aim is to curb this menace of narcotics which is being run by Pakistan in J&K and Punjab.

“In the last few days, Jammu police have recovered money from business of narco trade, which is being sent to Kashmir for carrying out militant activities. The militant outfits in Pakistan have been carrying this narco trade to run militant outfits which are working for them in Kashmir.”

He also said that for entire year total supply of narcotics from Pakistan was run on a large scale.

“Huge consignment of drugs have been recovered from Karnah, Kupwara and Baramulla routes. In the same way smuggling bids have been foiled in Rajouri, Poonch and Kathua sector of Jammu by the efforts of Jammu police,” he said. (KNS)
