Srinagar, May 22 (KNS): Army Sunday said that one of the two soldiers injured in Drugmulla encounter in Kupwara district succumbed at BB Cant army hospital.
Defence spokesman, Colonel N N Joshi told KNS that one among the two injured army personnel succumbed to his injuries while the condition of other injured is stable.
The slain soldier has been Naik Gawade Pandurang Mahadev.
“Mortal remains of the soldier will be flown to his village in Sindudurg District of Maharashtra after necessary formalities,” the spokesperson said.

Meanwhile addressing a press conference in Kupwara, Brigadier Rajeev Puri of Army’s Kilo Force paid tributes to the army man.
Puri said that 20 May evening, army received specific information about 4-5 militants in Chak Drugmulla area and laid cordon around the area with the help of police and SOG.
“The five foreign LeT militants fired on us and an encounter ensued in which the militants were killed,” he said.
He said that 5 AK-47 rifles, hundreds of rounds, 3 radio sets, 3 GPSs and other war like stores was recovered at the encounter site. (KNS)
