Srinagar, Jan 27 (KNS): On the third consecutive day the residents across the Kashmir continued to suffer losses due to the heavy snowfall in the Valley.
According to KNS correspondents, over 20 houses including two Masjid’s, and many cowsheds got damaged from past 24 hours.
The houses damaged in several areas particularly north Kashmir including Langate, Kralgund, Kupwara, Ganderbal, Gurez, Sopore and other places.
Besides, apple orchards got also damaged in the north Kashmir areas.
According to correspondent, in the intervening night of Thursday/Friday, in Mandigam area of Kralgund, the rooftop of the houses belonging to two brothers identified as Ghulam Ahmad Teli and Ghulam Muhammad Teli got damaged.
Following the incident, the family members according to the witnesses have been evacuated safely.
In the nearby village, Lokipora, a wall of a local Masjid got damaged due to the heavy snowfall from past couple of days.
According Correspondent, in Pohrupeth area of Langate, the houses of Zahoor Ahmad Lone and Muhammad Iqbal Mankoo got damaged due to the heavy snowfall.
It is worth to mention here that the houses of several people got damaged since the day one of the snowfall in the Valley. The family members of the damaged buildings were evacuated by the Police officials safely.
Meanwhile, In Dudwan area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, a cowshed belonging to Muhammad Yasin Peerzada, son of Wali Muhammad Peerzada got damaged due to the heavy snowfall.
The houses belonging to Bashir Ahmad, son of Abdul Ahad and Aisha Begum, wife of Wali Muhammad both residents of Tikkipora Lolab got partially damaged due to the heavy snowfall.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
According to KNS correspondent, in Ladroo area of Sopore, the houses belonging to Muhammad Subhan and Ghulam Muhammad got damaged after a fell down on the rooftop of their houses.
The houses according to KNS correspondent belonging to Ghulam Hassan Gojri, resident of Gojirbasi, Muhstaq Ahmad Ganie, son of Ali Muhammad Ganie, Ghulam Mohiuddin Baba, son of Muhammad Ramzan Baba, resident of BKpora, Ghulam Rasool Magrey, son of Muhammad Yaqoob Magrey, resident of Wattoo got damaged due to the heavy snowfall in the Valley from past three days.
Besides north Kashmir, two houses were also damaged in central Kashmir areas.
According to KSN correspondent, in Beerwah area of Cenmtral Kashmir’s Budgam district, the rooftop of 12 houses got damaged. Besides, five cowsheds and three shops got also damaged due to the heavy snowfall.
Correspondent reports that seven tin sheds in the area got also damaged.
In Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, the house of Ghulam Muhammad Najar, son of Ali Muhammad Najar got partially damaged due to the heavy snowfall.
Meanwhile, it is worth to mention here that the Jammu and Kashmir police officials are trying hard to provide assistance to the people in the Valley.
Witnesses said that in Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, the J&K police officials assisted two pregnant women’s to reach to the hospital for treatment. (KNS)
