Srinagar, May 05 (KNS): The Srinagar Municipal Corporation on Sunday Undertakes cleanliness campaign in South Zone of Srinagar city as part of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" Campaign.

As per the statement issued here, under the leadership of Commissioner Dr. Owais Ahmed (IAS), the SMC officials, in collaboration with the Chief Sanitation Officer and Zonal Sanitation Officer, led a highly successful cleanliness drive in and around L.D. Hospital and Embankment.

The objective of this initiative is to elevate the standards of cleanliness and advocate for hygiene practices by employing effective waste collection and disposal techniques, while also focusing on the removal of unwanted vegetation and grass, it said.

By actively involving the local community in these endeavors, the SMC aims to nurture a sense of civic responsibility among residents, encouraging sustainable and hygienic behaviors, it added.(KNS)
