Srinagar, Aug 22 (KNS): The family of the slain youth Irfan Ahmad, 18 who was killed after being hit by teargas at Malarata area of Srinagar’s old city area on late Sunday staged protests against the killing of their beloved one. Notably, Irfan whose father died 11 months back after brief illness was the sole bread earner for his family. “He was professionally an auto rickshaw driver. He is blessed with two sisters and a handicapped brother,” family said.
Meanwhile, the family including his sisters, mother, cousins, other relatives and neighbors assembled outside of slain youth’s home and marched towards Khanqah to protest against Irfan’s killing. They were chanting slogans against the killing and in favour of “Azaadi”.
Talking to KNS, Irfan’s cousin said that the protest was not organized for the cause of justice as they know that a large number of people whose kiths and kins were killed are still fighting for justice. “We know that justice will not be delivered to us at any cost so we decided not to file FIR against the killing of our beloved one,” he said.
