Srinagar, Mar 27 (KNS): A day after the two militants were killed in an encounter, thousands of people Monday participated in their last rites.
The two militants who were identified as Shahbaz Shafi alias Rayees Kachroo and Farooq Ahmad Hurra were killed in a shootout in Padgampora village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday.
Reports said that the funeral prayers of a slain militant, Rayees Kachroo were offered four times at his ancestral village, Belov in Pulwama, to accommodate thousands of people who had come from other districts to offer prayers for him.
Meanwhile, reports said that clashes erupted between youth and forces after the two slain Hizb militants were laid to rest at their respective villages.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Reports said that forces used tear smoke shells to disperse the youth who were throwing stones on them.
A complete shutdown was observed in Shopian district, Tral and Awantipora towns of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district against the killing of two Hizb militants.
Reports said that all business establishments remained closed in Tral, Awantipora and its adjoining localities while traffic remained thin on roads throughout the day. (KNS)
