Srinagar, Jul 19 (KNS): The 60 students from Kashmir who have qualified Indian Council of Agricultural Research entrance tests for pursuing Post Graduation have got a major reprieve after the universities permitted them for provisional admission.
Vice Chancellor Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Kashmir Naseer Ahmad told KNS that ICAR has communicated to the university about the provisional admission to the students.
While thanking the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for taking up the matter with Union Agriculture Minister, the VC said that the efforts of all, the CM, students, their parents and ICAR have proved fruitful.
“All the students will get the provisional admission. ICAR has communicated to me about the decision,” Ahmad told KNS

The students and their parents have thanked the CM, VC SKUAST and ICAR for the major reprieve.
The students had qualified the All India level ICAR entrance to pursue their PGs in veterinary sciences from different universities. However, due to agitation in 2016, the students said their 6-monthly internship got delayed due to 2016 agitation by six months and they could not get the qualification certificates as per schedule and were not permitted by the universities for PG.
