SKUAST-K’s Faculty of Forestry organises program on wildlife disease, its management

Srinagar, Dec 30 (KNS): Faculty of forestry, SKUAST-K, organised a programme on wildlife disease and its management. 

Dr (Captian) Parag Nigam vice chairman project Tiger ( MoEFCC) & scientist wildlife institute of India was the chief guest on the occasion. 

During his address, Dr Nigam highlighted the importance of wildlife and forest in sustaining healthy environment particularly with the eminent threat of climate change. 

He also stressed the need for management of forest and wildlife in managing the life threatening diseases like Corona, SARS, Ebola, NIPAH etc. 

Dean faculty of forestry prof. T.H Masoodi in his address appreciated the efforts of Dr Parag Nigam particularly in disease management of Hangul (UT Animal of J&K).

He also stressed on the role of forest and wildlife in providing for sustenance of eco-friendly environment.

The program ended with vote of thanks to the chair and chief guest, HoDs, faculty members and students. (KNS)
