SKUAST-K Forestry Students Immerse in Night Patrol, Camping Adventure in Kupwara's Reshwari

 Kupwara, May 28(KNS): On the direction of DFO Langate, 39 students from SKUAST-K's Faculty of Forestry had an exciting overnight stay in Reshwari area of Handwara in north Kashmir's Kupwara district. 

 
They got to participate in a thrilling night patrol on foot and in vehicles, as well as enjoy camping in the Reshwari area. The group consisted of 22 girls and 17 boys.
 
The students were given a hands-on experience of exploring the Langate Forest Division while accompanied by Range Officer Mudasir Ahmad and Forester Mohammad Aslam. They learned about the forest's rich biodiversity and the importance of its conservation.
 
During the night patrol, the students used flashlights to discover the forest's nighttime wonders and observe the activities of nocturnal wildlife. Afterwards, they set up camp in Reshwari, where they learned camping skills like pitching tents, making campfires, and cooking outdoors. They enjoyed sharing stories and knowledge around the campfire.
 
The DFO Langate expressed satisfaction with the program, highlighting the need for practical exposure in forestry studies. The students were thrilled by the experience, gaining a deeper appreciation for nature and their chosen field. The night patrol and camping adventure organized by the Langate Forest Division left a lasting impact on the students, inspiring their commitment to protecting our natural resources.(KNS).
