Jammu, Jan 20 (KNS): Congress MLA and former Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora here on Friday accused the government of putting favorites and relations of Ministers on the governing board of SKIMS Soura.
According to KNS correspondent covering the assembly proceedings, speaking on the motion of grants of health and Medical education department, Jora said Dr. Khursheed Aalam one of the Doctors nominated for the governing board is facing prosecution while the other two including Dr. Altaf Ramzan and Dr. Saima Rasheed are close relations of top power wilding politicians of the incumbent PDP-BJP government. He said that accused doctors have virtually hijacked the administration of the institute and those at the helm are not getting free hand to run the institute on modern lines. He said the healthcare facilities in the institute have been rendered defunct and the director’s helplessness before the governing body members enjoying cloud of power building politicians has hit the working of the largest referral health centre in the State.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
According to KNS correspondent, Jora while referring to the constitution of governing bodies of AIMS Delhi and Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences of Chandigarh (PGI) said only doctors of high integrity are nominated as members of the governing bodies of both PGI Chandigarh and AIMS Delhi but it is very unfortunate that doctors of doubtful integrity have been named members of SKIMS governing body nearly for the reasons of being close relations of the incumbent chief minister and the finance minister.
