Experts elaborate patient care need in State’s far flung areas

Srinagar, Oct 06 (KNS): In a statement issued by SKIMS authorities, it has been conveyed that the Departments of Surgical, Medical and Radiation Oncology from SKIMS are going to hold a cancer surgical and screening camp at District Hospital Anantnag. It is pertinent to mention that this project was initiated in 2014 by Consultants of Dep’t of Surgical Oncology of SKIMS( Dr A G Haji, Dr Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad, Dr Azhar Jan Battoo, Dr Mir Abdul Wahid) in collaboration with Directorate Health services Kashmir. Under this project of “Mobile SKIMS” many patients have been operated and screened at different district hospitals by a team of cancer surgeons of SKIMS.
Under this project, the experts from Surgical Oncology SKIMS will operate upon cancer patients at DH Anantnag on Monday (October 10 of 2016). Elaborating on the details and goals of the project, Prof AG Ahnagar (Director & EOSG SKIMS) and HOD Surgical Oncology ( Dr Altaf Gauhar Haji)stated that the aim of mobile SKIMS is to provide healthcare services to patients from far flung areas at their doorsteps.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe appreciated the important role of Director Health Services, Dr Saleem-u-Rehman for collaborating and providing the logistics for this endeavor in the peripheries.
It is informed through this press note, that the cancer patients residing in the vicinity of DH Anantnag can come for their follow-up or treatment as this camp will be attended by doctors from all the oncological specialities.
