Six persons go missing at Margan top in Kishtwar

Srinagar, Feb 24 (KNS): At least six persons went missing after being trapped in snow at Margan top in Kistwar district of Jammu division on Thursday when they were on way back to their home.

Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that around one feet snow had accumulated in the area and it was continuously snowing when they went missing.

Notably, Margan Top connects Warwan Valley of Kishtwar with Anantnag district in South Kashmir.

The missing persons have been identified as Ajaz Ahmad Koka, Mohammad Akbar Koka, Gulzar Ahmad Koka, Sabzar Ahmad Dar Sana Ullah, Manzoor Ahmad Koka and Ghulam Nabi Koka—all Residents of Chuidraman Warwan.

Reports said that they were on their way back to home, but didn’t return and were feared to be trapped in a snowstorm on the Margan Top.

They said that continuous snowfall in the area has delayed the rescue operation and so far there is no trace of the missing persons. (KNS)
