Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the sixth Sikh Guru, is remembered as a symbol of bravery, justice, and spiritual strength. The community believes a holiday would allow them to observe the day with full devotion and traditional practices without professional or academic obligations.

They expressed hope that the government would acknowledge the sentiments of the Sikh minority and declare a gazetted holiday as a mark of respect and inclusion.
