SIA Kashmir Attaches Property of LeT Operative in Major Narco-Terror Case

Srinagar, May 06 (KNS): In a major step against narco-terror networks in Jammu and Kashmir, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir has attached immovable property belonging to a Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK)-based operative of the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

The action is linked to FIR No. 03/2023 of Police Station ANTF, which was initially registered by the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and later handed over to SIA Kashmir for a detailed investigation. The case involves serious charges of narco-smuggling, terror funding, and cross-border links.

According to officials, investigations revealed that the accused, Zameer Ahmad Lone, a resident of Mandiyan Keran in Kupwara, is currently operating from PoJK and is actively involved in narco-terror activities. He has been declared a proclaimed offender by the court for evading arrest and continuing anti-national activities from across the border.

Based on evidence collected during the investigation, SIA Kashmir approached the competent court, which ordered the attachment of the accused’s property.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Acting on these orders, a team of SIA officials carried out the attachment of land measuring 1 Kanal and 14.37 Marlas located in Mandiyan Keran. The process was conducted in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and local revenue officials, following proper legal procedures.
Earlier, SIA Kashmir had also filed a detailed charge sheet in the case, highlighting strong evidence of drug trafficking, terror financing, and links with cross-border terror networks.

Officials said the action reflects the agency’s firm commitment to dismantle the entire ecosystem of terrorism, including financial and narcotics networks supporting such activities. They added that strict legal action will continue against individuals and groups involved in activities that threaten the security and integrity of the nation.

The move also aligns with the ongoing efforts under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, as authorities in Jammu and Kashmir intensify measures to curb drug abuse and break the link between narcotics and terrorism.(KNS)
