Srinagar May 2 (KNS): Stating that shortage of vaccine, oxygen and other Covid related medicines in J&K is a matter of serious concern, Senior Congress Leader and Former legislators Mohd Amin Bhat has urged the Govt to ensure requisite supplies to ensure the safety of precious lives.

Bhat also urged the Govt to establish Oxygen Plants in Rural Areas in J&K to meet the demands, besides ensuring free ration to people, besides cash relief to labour class and transporters in J&K.

In a statement issued to Kashmir news service (KNS), Senior Congress and Former Legislator Mohd Amin Bhat has said that reports regarding shortage of vaccine, oxygen and other covid related medicines especially Remedesivir in J&K has made people restless, who are worrying for their safety as the threat is looming large over their heads due to the spurt in Covid 19 cases almost in every district of J&K  and urged the Govt to address the people’s concerns, besides taken other effective measures to deals with this ugliest situation that has come in the shape of the second wave of Covid 19.

He said the vaccines from the age group of 18 to 45 has not yet been started which has the potential to further deepen the crisis in Kashmir and Jammu as well. Rather than asking people to get themselves registered for vaccination, the Govt should ensure the supply of this vaccine at every health centres to avoid over-crowding, besides ensuring that people do not keep more apprehensions in their minds due to the delay in vaccination.

This is a tough time, Govt need to deal it with full dedication besides ensuring extra bedding in hospitals and other quarantine centres, besides ensuring the supply of medicines in hospitals, Amin Bhat added and urged the Govt to provide cash relief to Transporters and Labour class to ensure that the do not face starvation during lockdown period in their homes.

Welcoming the lockdown, Mohd Amin Bhat also laid emphasis on overextending the lockdown in the entire J&K, as that will only break the chain, besides ensuring safety of the people.(KNS)
