IGP says killings of civilians, local policemen being committed by local LeT militants 

Srinagar, June 23 (KNS): The suspected militants on Wednesday evening shot dead a shopkeeper inside his mobile store in main Chwok of Habba Kadal area of Srinagar 

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that in the evening at militants fired upon a mobile shop owner inside his shop at Main Chowk Habba Kadal. 

He has been identified as Umer Nazir Bhat son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat resident of Kelashpora Habakadal. 

He said that Umer received critical gunshot injuries and was shifted to nearby hospital for the treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries. 

“Senior police officers reached at the terror crime spot.  Investigation into the matter is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the circumstances which lead to this crime. Area has been cordoned off and search in the area is going on.”

Meanwhile, IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar told KNS that these innocent killings of civilian and local policemen are being committed by local militants of LeT (self claimed as TRF) on the instruction of militant Abbas Sheikh. 

He said that they have been indulging in the militancy related crimes for money being paid by Pakistani handlers. 

“These criminals are falsely labelling these innocent persons as informers to hide their sin,” IGP said. (KNS)
