Baramulla, April 28 (KNS): A shopkeeper was arrestee for secretly recording videos of customers in the trail room of his shop in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official said that the arrest was made after a minor girl accompanied by her sister filed a written complaint at Chandoosa Police Station.
He said the girl, as per the complaint had gone to a readymade shop in Bandi Payeen to buy some clothes on April 26. “She went inside the changing room to try on clothes and found a hidden mobile phone there which was being used to secretly record customers while they changed their clothes,” he said.
He said based on the complaint a case was registered under sections of IPC, IT Act and POCSO Act.
“Subsequently, owner of the shop Aijaz Ahmad Sofi was taken into custody immediately. Police have also seized his mobile devices for further investigation,” he said.
Meanwhile, police assured the public that they will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of citizens. (KNS)
