Srinagar, Oct 1 (KNS) : The Press Club of Kashmir (PCK) on Wednesday announced that the Shopian journalists’ body has joined the Club under the leadership of Irshad Malik of News 18, who was unanimously elected as the interim president of the National Media Group Shopian and later announced his affiliation with the Press Club of Kashmir in Srinagar.
Besides him, Raja Zaid from Kashmir News Service (KNS) was nominated as the spokesperson of the body. Aijaz Dar of Aaj Tak, Shah Irshad of Gulistan News, Sheikh Hilal of Kashmir Life, Umar Malik of News X, Muzamil Yaqoob of Amar Ujala, Bashrat Gandroo of JK Media, and Mir Irfan were appointed as executive members during the meeting in Shopian, as reported by spokesman Raja Zaid.
The president of the Press Club of Kashmir, Mohammad Saleem Pandit, welcomed the group and confirmed their enrolment as members.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAt the end of the meeting, senior members of the PCK executive body congratulated the newly appointed interim president and spokesperson, while also appealing to all journalists to extend full cooperation in strengthening the institution of the Press Club.
Pandit pledged full support to the Shopian journalists to ensure their welfare, emphasising the importance of solidarity in times of crisis. Additionally, it has been decided to invite journalists from all districts of the Kashmir valley to a medical check-up camp scheduled for October 8, 2025, in Srinagar, in collaboration with Srinagar Paras Hospital.
