‘It is terrible that medical staff is targeted’

Srinagar, Aug 19 (KNS): Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today expressed deep shock over shooting at an ambulance driver by security forces in Safakadal area of Srinagar.
In a statement to KNS, President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan while deploring the attack, said that firing at an ambulance driver is an unacceptable act of barbarism.
On Thursday night, Gh Mohd Sofi, an ambulance driver was ferrying patients from PHC Wusan of block Kangan to Srinagar hospitals, when forces fired pellets at him.
Despite sustaining severe injuries, he drove the ambulance to SMHS hospital to drop the patients before he himself was taken to Bone and Joint hospital Burzalla, where he is undergoing treatment.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
It is terrible that medical staff is targeted like this.
This dastardly act has send shivers across the people and medical fraternity in particular.
It has created a frightening atmosphere and the medical staff is in a state of shock.
We are speechless at this horrific act.
In the last few weeks we have witnessed repeated attacks on medical staff.
Hospitals were shelled, ambulances are being vandalized and staff beaten.
These attacks on medical staff have become a routine now and there seems to be no end to them.
This new systematic pattern of atrocities against medical personnel is a matter of serious concern. (KNS)
