Srinagar, July 05: (KNS) Former Deputy Mayor Sheikh Mohammad Imran on Tuesday felicitated the people of J&K on the annual Urs of Ameer-e-Kabeer Mir Syed Ali Hamadani (RA) while paying floral tributes to his unswerving services in religious, social and economic fields.

In a statement to the media, Imran said the people of Kashmir are highly indebted to the religious & economic reforms introduced by this revered scholar whose spirituality and magnanimous personality continues to captivate the hearts of millions of people to this very day.

“The global prominence of Kashmir's handicrafts & spiritual philosophy is all because of the colossal efforts of this stalwart Islamic scholar who through immense hardships travelled from Iran just to serve the people of the valley. His conduct, lifestyle and teachings are beacons of light that have inspired many religious & social luminaries. He has left an unforgettable impression on the hearts and minds of people who have always reverently remembered him as Shah-e-Hamadan,” he said.

Imran also emphasised on the dire need to follow his noble teachings in these trying times where people are engulfed in materialistic pursuits which has ultimately made our collective lives filled with worry & discomfort.

“We must ardently embrace his simple but precious teachings that teach us to serve humanity, show compassion to others & express gratitude to Almighty Allah for all the blessings in life. I firmly believe that the menace of social evils like drugs and domestic violence that are eating into the vitals of our society  can be effectively repelled through disseminating the invaluable teachings of this great spiritual scholar,” he observed.

Further, Imran urged the administration to ensure that uninterrupted electricity & water supply is maintained during Urs days in order to avoid any inconvenience to the devotees who throng to Khankah-i-Maula from different parts of the valley.(KNS)
