Srinagar, Sep 29 (KNS): The J&K Judicial Academy on tuesday organised an interactive session between Chief Justice of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati, and Trainee Civil Judges (Junior Division), Batch 2026.

Interacting with the trainee judges, the Chief Justice said Artificial Intelligence could assist in administrative and routine tasks and improve efficiency, but judicial decision-making required human reasoning, discretion, empathy and a proper understanding of facts.

He stressed that AI should remain an aid and never become a substitute for judicial judgment, with the ultimate responsibility resting with the judge.

The Chief Justice also highlighted the need to balance technological advancement with the values of justice, fairness, transparency and public trust.

On social media usage, he advised the trainee judges to exercise restraint and caution, avoid excessive reliance and maintain clear professional boundaries.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He emphasised that humility, patience, human values and a balanced temperament were essential qualities of a judge, adding that a judge must always maintain basic human courtesy while remembering that he or she is ultimately a public servant.

The Chief Justice stressed that one must first be a good human being to become a good judge.

Director, J&K Judicial Academy, Naseer Ahmad Dar, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the significance of the Chief Justice's first visit to the Academy after assuming office.

The programme was conducted by trainee Civil Judge Priyanka Bhardwaj, while trainee Civil Judge Saiqa Sharief Khan presented the vote of thanks.(KNS)
