Sheikh Imran targets Mehbooba Mufti, NC over ‘theatrics’ claim

Srinagar, Mar 28 (KNS): A political exchange on social media has triggered fresh debate in Jammu and Kashmir, with Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference leader Sheikh Imran criticising remarks linked to Mehbooba Mufti.

Imran, a former deputy mayor of Srinagar and currently secretary organisation in the party, accused certain political leaders of “hypocrisy” and urged them to explicitly name the United States and Israel while referring to global conflicts, particularly tensions involving Iran.

He also referred to a resolution passed by the Punjab Assembly, claiming it had clearly condemned actions by both countries.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

In a social media post, Imran alleged that some leaders were engaging in “theatrics” and promoting narratives that could alienate Kashmiris.

He further accused political rivals, including the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, of portraying Kashmiris negatively and acting against their interests.

The remarks come amid heightened political discourse in the region, with leaders increasingly using social media platforms to express views on both local and international issues.(KNS).
