Remembering Shaheed-e-Azeemat Sheikh Abdul Aziz on his 7th martyrdom anniversary, Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah said that Sheikh was among the pioneers of freedom movement of Jammu Kashmir and a legendary martyr “whose contribution will be written with golden ink.”
Shah in a statement to KNS said the day (of Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Aziz’s martyrdom) will always be remembered “when a boundless and massive peaceful caravan of people marched towards Muzaffarabad.”
“Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Aziz will always be remembered for his unflinching contribution to the freedom struggle of Kashmir.”
Paying tributes to all those martyred by forces in Sangrama and Sopore areas during ‘Muzaffarabad Chalo’ call in 2008, Shah expressed solidarity with all the bereaved families. “Today, we reiterate our pledge of sincerely taking the mission of Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Aziz and thousands of martyrs forward. The martyrdom day of Sheikh Aziz will be commemorated as ‘Youm-e-Tajdeed-e-Ahad’ and the caravan of freedom struggle will continue despite all odds,” Shah declared.
He also paid glowing tributes to Lashkar-e-Toiba Commander Shaheed Talib Hussain Shah who was slain during a fierce gunfight with Indian forces at Kakapora, Pulwama yesterday.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said the joining of Mujahedeen ranks by highly educated youth implies that new generation, without caring for their personal future, are sacrificing their lives for the future of this nation. “The joining of pro-freedom camps by college and university pass-outs is an eye-opener for India that they cannot crush our ideology through
suppressive and repressive measures by the hands of more than 8 Lakh forces. It (India) should read writing on the wall that it cannot imprison our minds and sentiments. How come a nation whose highly educated youth prefer resistance over material gains be lured or suppressed through various tactics?” Shah questioned.
Meanwhile, the party spokesperson while castigating authorities over continuously keeping its chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah under house arrest said the administration has accepted its defeat as “it’s unable to fight its opponents in a political way.” He termed restrictions on pro-freedom leadership as undemocratic and unconstitutional saying the government has virtually imposed a martial law.”
