Srinagar, Jan 13 (KNS): The Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee (JKAAC) President Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has paid glowing tributes to late Advocate Sheikh Abdul Rouf Dalal on his 5th passing away anniversary. Recalling his contribution towards the Kashmir cause Mirwaiz said throughout his life he worked with dedication and commitment to keep the Kashmir cause alive and contributed a lot on social, legal and educational fronts.
Meanwhile on the occasion of Friday congregational prayers at Jamia Masjid Srinagar, Imam-e-Hai Syed Ahmad Naqashbani paid rich tributes to Sheikh Abdul Rouf Dalal and prayed for his eternal peace. A large number of JKAAC leaders and activists including Sufi Mushtaq Ahmad, Peer Ghulam Nabi, Yaqoob Masoodi and others also on the occasion recalled the contribution of Sheikh Abdul Rouf Dalal towards the Kashmir cause in general and JKAAC in particular.
To commemorate the 5th anniversary of Advocate Sheikh Abdul Rouf Dalal a Quran Khawani Majis was held at his residence during which prayers were made for the peace of the departed soul. Besides Sheikh Faisal Rouf Dalal, Sheikh Yasir Rouf Dalal proud sons of Sheikh Abdul Rouf Dalal several social-political and religious leaders, friends, fellow, workers, colleagues attend the Majlis.

Born in 1949, Sheikh Abdul Rouf Dalal had his initial education from Tyndale Biscoe School Srinagar thereafter he did his Graduation and Post Graduation in Law from S. P. College and Kashmir University respectively.
The son of renowned Muslim Conference leader Sheikh Salam Dalal while keeping his father’s legacy and mission alive Sheikh Abdul Rouf Dalal joined Awami Action Committee (Erstwhile Muslim Conference) and worked for resolution of Kashmir dispute working along with Shaheed-i-Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq and was his close confidant and his aide. He served as provincial president of JKAAC, an active member of Anjumani Nusratul Islam and also contributed a lot being a trustee of Syed Mirak Shah Memorial Educational Trust.
After the formation of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Sheikh Abdul Rouf Dalal at this platform also while accompanying APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq remained steadfast to resolve the lingering issue of Jammu & Kashmir. (KNS)
