Jammu, July 01 (KNS): Senior Vice President JKPCC & Former Minister Congress Sham Lal Sharma took strong exception over the recent pay hike of legislators/Ministers.
He said that instead of enhancing the pay hike the government should have paid attention towards the people who were facing miseries nowadays.
In a statement issued to KNS, Sham expressed anguish over non regularization of daily wagers and casual laborers in the State. So much so they aren't being paid wages for long time. This has made things worse as these daily wagers aren't able to look after their families as their families are fully dependent on them for their livelihood.
He said that the education of the wards of these daily wagers and casual laborers suffered to a great extent because they aren't able to defray the expenses on their education.
He said the Government has been inept to solve the problems of these daily wagers rather they added salt to their wounds by hiking salaries of legislators instead of giving some succor to these daily wagers.
Sham alleged that the present Govt made tall promises with farmers but more than one and half year have elapsed no action has been taken in this context and things are going from bad to worst.
He said that the government BJP-PDP announced 50% loan through Kissan credit card by the farmers will be waive off but so far no such loan were waived off. Though Govt have enhanced the salaries of legislators but it failed miserably to improve the plight of small farmers and backed out from the promises made to them during last year budget. Consequently farmers are living in a very pathetic condition.
Sham further said that salaries of legislators in J&K was Rs 17000/-in 2002, Rs 40,000 in 2006 and raised more than double in 2009. Now it's Rs 1, 60000 where as the pension of widow, orphans, physically challenged and old age people receive Rs 200/-only. The BJP-PDP Govt also promised them to enhance their pension to Rs1000/-but all in vain.
"Most of the widows of the state are abundant from their houses, they have no place to go and unable to maintain themselves and the paltry amount these receives from the state Govt as a widow pension is nothing short of a cruel joke which the BJP-PDP government making of these widows, orphans, old age and physically challenged," he added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Sham said that the teacher's appointed under Sarver Shiksha Abhiyaan have not paid their salaries. Consequently they are facing financial hardships. Some teacher's families including parents are fully dependent on them. Due to nonpayment of salaries they are experiencing great difficulty in looking after their domestic affairs. Not only that education of their children has been greatly affected. The Govt before enhancing the hike of legislators should have taken care of these teachers.
Sham told state government as to when they are going to implement 7th pay commission for the state employees? As Ministers and legislators have enhanced there pay hike that to in double ratio. He said that the employees of the State government in all departments are working very hard and in the present inflationary conditions they are facing financial hardships. It would have been worthwhile if the 7th Pay Commission could have been implemented before hiking the pay of legislators.
Sham slams BJP Govt for its much publicized 7th pay commission. He said the Govt employees are disappointed with the 7th Pay Commission and termed it as worst ever pay commission so far as employees interest is concerned.
He further said that during elections BJP made tall promises to the people of but haven't fulfilled any of them, the people feel cheated.
He also said that Modi roamed across the country during Lok Sabha poll campaign telling that he will bring back black money and deposit 15 lakhs in every Indians bank account within one month of his coming to power. He said BJP Govt at centre completed two years and people who voted for him are still waiting that the promised money will come to their bank accounts, but there is no sign of it.
Similarly the BJP promised the youth that 2 crores job of them will be given employment within a year, but nothing of that sort happened.
Sham alleged that the leaders of BJP have lust of power but no concern for the miseries of common people with which they are suffering.
He said that the aim of BJP leaders is to improve their bank balance and enjoy the privileges whether in State or in Centre. (KNS)
