Srinagar, Aug 02 (KNS): Shahr-e-Khass traders have appealed to the LG administration to released Dr Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Umar Farooq, who is under house detention since August 05, 2019.

In a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), SKT spokesperson said that Mirwaiz Umar used to give sermons to the people of Kashmir, especially at the Jamia Masjid Srinagar and the people of whole Kashmir would come to Jamia Masjid to offer Friday prayers.

The statement reads that besides taking blessings and advises from Mirwaiz family there was hustle and bustle in the Jamia market and it's adjacent markets.

It reads that people would do shopping on the Fridays, which would boost the economy of the traders of Shahr-e-Khass.

“We once again request LG administration to allow Mirwaiz Dr Mohammad Umar Farooq to carry out religious programmes,” it added. (KNS)
