Banihal, Feb 08 (KNS): National Conference District President Sajjad Shaheen on Thursday accused the PDP-BJP government of showing high degree of insensitivity and callousness towards the aspirations of the people and its ill-conceived policies that have aggravated their problems manifold during the past three years.
While interacting with the people during his extensive visit of Chanjloo, lamber, Asshar, Zinhal, Khairkoot, Nowgam, Tethar, Chareel,Ramsoo and other villages of the Banihal Assembly Constituency, Sajjad Shaheen expressed anguish over defunct utility services, saying erratic power and drinking water supply has been immense cause of concern among the residents, especially during the on-going winter season. He said what to speak of remote areas and far-flung villages of the constituency; the Banihal town itself remains most plunged into darkness due to unscheduled power cuts.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“The issues pertaining to power and drinking water are needed to be looked into immediately”, Shaheen said adding that scarcity of essential commodities, especially rations at sale outlets is also a common grievance of the people. He stressed the need for improving medicare facilities, as most of the health institutions were lacking medicines and diagnostic facilities.
The District President also referred to the dilapidated condition of road network in rural areas and said non-maintenance has made most of these unworthy for traffic and this is going to cause numerous problems to the people. (KNS)
