Banihal, Jan 08 (KNS): National Conference (NC) District President, Haji Sajjad Shaheen on Tuesday lambasted the PDP for creating obstacles in the activation of Ramsoo Tehsil and Ukharhal College cautioned that further delay would force the people take to streets and resort to agitation.
“The delay raises many questions with regard to political motivation of the PDP as the issue is hanging decision despite assurances held out in the Legislative Assembly and in various forums,” Shaheen said while addressing party workers during the day long monthly meeting held at Ukharhal and Ramsoo areas of Banihal Constituency today.
Shaheen, who is also incharge of Banihal constituency decried the PDP-BJP for its political maneuvering in delaying the functioning of Tehsil as it had been created by Omar Abdullah led Government in 2014 while respecting public urges and need for taking administration at their doorsteps.
Shaheen said that Ramsoo Tehsil had been created along with other administrative units in various parts of the State on October 21, 2014 as per Cabinet Decision No 187/14/2014.
“If urgency can be shown by the PDP in posting Assistant Commissioner in Bhaderwah despite non-availability of any such post what is the problem in making duly created Ramsoo Tehsil functional,” he asked, maintaining that the PDP-BJP has been a biggest obstacle in development of remote areas and fulfillment of its politico-economic aspirations.
Shaheen reiterated his demand of making Ramsoo Tehsil functional by making internal arrangement in terms of deployment of the staff.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
This will save the people from inconvenience they were encountering while undertaking long journeys and wasting days together to seek redressal to their revenue and related issues, he added.
The district President lauded the resilience and resolve of the Ramsoo and Ukharhal people for adopting peaceful means to press their demands and cautioned the government this should not be taken as their weakness.
He said that if Ramsoo Tehsil and Ukhrhal college is not activated in a time bound manner than we will be left with no option other than launching agitation and if need be he will sit with his people to agitate the callousness of the government.
A large number of political workers from Congress, PDP and BJP joined NC during the meeting which include Abdul Rashid , Mohd Ashraf Bhat, Abdul Gani, Asgar Ayoub, Yaser Ahmed Deng, Farooq Ahmed, Jasbir Singh Katoch, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan and others and resolved to strengthen the party at grass root level.
Distt Vice President Molvi Abdul Latif, Block Presidents Riyaz Ahmed Mir, Nisar Ahmed Sohil, Mohd Khalil Sohil, vice block president Bahar Ahmed Naik, blick Secretary Shakib ur Rehman, distt joint Secretary Ghulam Qadir Wani ,Youth block presidents Jagjit Singh, Mohd Imtiyaz Mughal, Majub ur Rehman and others also spoke in the meeting.
