Banihal, Mar 11 (KNS): National Conference leader & District President Ramban Haji Sajjad Shaheen has expressed grave concern over erratic power supply in far-off areas of the Banihal Assembly Constituency due to snapping of electric poles and wires due to heavy snowfall that have not been set right for weeks together.
During his extensive two days on foot visit to various snow affected villages of Neel met and interacted with large number of people and enquired about the situation arisen after heavy snowfall and addressed series of meetings during the tour. He sought immediate repairs to the damaged poles and transformers and restoration of power.
Shaheen visited several villages that include Batoo, Gagoni, Parihinder, Zarari, Fatehwagen in Neel and during interaction in these villages the people complained about scarcity of drinking water in several villages. He said the road connectivity to Neel-Batoo and Parihinder is yet to be restored even after two months of snowfall and the delay in clearance of snow from roads has badly impacted the mobility and added to the miseries of the people. He particularly referred to the blockade of Chamalwas-Neel road, and Khari -Mahu Mangit road saying no serious effort is being made to restore these roads.
Expressing grave concern over the inability of the previous government in clearing the bottle necks on Heewagan-Neel road and Seeran-Sarachi road, the District President urged the R&B Department for taking up restoration and upgradation works on immediate bases.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Shaheen also drew the attention of the Governor lead State administration towards deficiencies in education and health sectors and sought immediate filling up of vacant posts as also stocking of adequate quantity of medicines in the health institutions.
He said complaints about defunct utility services have also been received from Khari-Trigam, Mahoo-Mangit, Pogal-Paristan, Sumar, Sarachi, Bajmasta, Chaka, Sarbagni, Bingara, Kumbla, Maligam, Arimarg, Buzla Senabati and Tanka.
Dozens of political political workers from PDP, BJP and Congress joined National Conference during the tour and prominent among those who joined the party include retd, Police Inspector Haji Mohd Hanief Deng, Retd BSF Inspector Abdul Wahid Naik, Retd Excise Inspector Haji Mohd Yousaf Naik and Haji Abdul Rashid Naik besides others.
District Vice president Mohd Sadiq Naik, block presidents Gulam Rasool Deing, Mohd khalil Sohil, Nisar Ahmed Sohil, Riyaz Ahmed Mir, Sarpanch Tanvir Ahmed Katoch, Vice block president Thakur Bharat Singh, Abdul Rashid Shan, Youth leaders Musharaf Naik, Tahir Ashraf Koka, Manzoor Ahmed Sheikh,Mushtaq Ahmed Padihar besides Haji Abdul Rehman Padihar, Zahoor Ahmed Katoch, Panch Majib ur Rehman, Shabir Ahmed Katoch, Mohd Imran, Mushtaq Ahmed also accompanied the leader.
