Banihal, Jul 29 (KNS): Cautioning the PDP-BJP coalition against continued anti-people policies, National Conference District President Ramban Sajjad Shaheen on Saturday expressed anguish and dismay over sub-standard rations being made available at the ration depots, especially in the remote and backward areas, thus putting the rationees to enormous hardships.
“The height is that even the sub-standard rations are not available in most of the depots”, Shaheen said, adding that the denial of levy sugar has sky-rocketed its prices in the market. He questioned the logic of the coalition in denying sugar quota to the rationees, saying such a situation has never arisen in Jammu and Kashmir.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“Is this the coalition version of the Ache Din”, Shaheen asked and urged the administration to look into the widespread complaints against the quality of rations and ensure supply of levy sugar at the earliest. The lackadaisical approach of the insensitive government has given rise to price rice in the markets, he added.
The District President was on an extensive tour of Mahu in Khari block of the Banihal assembly constituency, along with senior functionaries. Several deputations met the National Conference delegation and apprised them of their problems. (KNS)
