Banihal, 18th Feb (KNS) : Cautioning the Administration to focus on improvement in the ailing health sector and to provide basic health care facilities to people at their door steps especially those living in far flung areas, National Conference leader and District President, Ramban Sajjad Shaheen on Tuesday said that the entire district Ramban especially Banihal constituency lacks basic health care facilities, shortage of medical and para-medical staff, non-availability of life saving medicines and blood bank.
Shaheen further said that there is inadequate infrastructure in District Hospital Ramban, Sub-District Hospital Banihal, PHCs Ukharhal, CHC Allinabas, Ramsoo, Khari, Neel, Nowgam, Mahu-Mangit and other sub centres in Banihal constituency. He urged upon the Administration to take steps to improve health care facilities in all the hospitals in District Ramban especially in far-off areas of Banihal constituency.
Shaheen also expressed grave concern over the infrastructural damages caused due to incessant weather across the Banihal constituency and in various other parts of the Ramban District, saying people were immensely suffering due to continues snow and rain fall during the ongoing winter.

“As a consequence of frequent snow and rainfall the power and drinking water supply has been badly hit while road connectivity with most of the parts remained disrupted”,due to which sufferings of people have increased manifold during the past three months especially in the wake of disruption in the mobility.
Referring to the infrastructural breakdown of various utility services, especially the power and drinking water. He said most of the snow bound areas remained without electricity supply during the last three months of harsh winter and therefore the Administration must waive off electricity charges for the period the supply remained snapped.
Sajjad Shaheen also expressed anguish over inadequate ration stocking at various CAPD outlets and urged the administration to look into the matter so that people are not deprived of ration support.
