Terming the Valley wide protests against the court order of banning beef in the state as justified and timely, the Democratic Freedom Party chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah Saturday said the interference of any institution in our religious affairs is "unacceptable and intolerable."
In a statement to KNS, he also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the crane accident that took place in Masjid Al Haraam in which more than 100 Haajis died and about 200 injured.
Terming the Saturday's shutdown by Kashmiris as "Eye-opener" for state judiciary and administration, Shah said the people exhibited utmost 'sense of dignity' and made it clear that no interference from anyone in religious matters will be tolerated.
Shah, who yesterday addressed a public gathering at Pulwama chowk, was placed under house arrest during evening.
In a statement issued to press, Shah while lashing out at authorities over using brutal force against the protesters said the govt made it clear that there is no such thing as law and Justice prevailing in the state and that bullets can be showered upon those protesting the court diktats.
He vehemently condemned the police action of using tear gas shells, pellet guns and lathi charge over the people during Pulwama gathering. "On one hand, judgement hurting the sentiments of masses is imposed forcibly and on other reign of terror is unleashed upon those protesting the move."
Lashing out at ruling and opposition parties, Shah said they don't even shy from changing Halal into Haram.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"These parties only deceive people by showing them false dreams of progress and development but in reality exploit masses for their personal gains."
Thanking people for observing 'forceful' protests against court diktat, Shah said, "Had not we registered protests, the day would not be far when the so-called administration on the behest of New Delhi would ban the mosques and prayers."
"These issues arise due to slavery and if we'll act as mute spectators they (New Delhi and state govt) will not tolerate us even as Muslims," Shah added.
He also condemned the undue restrictions and curfew imposed by authorities in various parts of Valley.
Expressing deep grief and sorrow over the crane accident that took place in Masjid Al Haraam in which more than 100 Haajis died and about 200 injured, Shah prayed for all the souls who passed away. In his message to Saudi government, Shah expressed solidarity with them on the unfortunate incident.
Meanwhile spokesperson expressed his deep concern over the continuous detention of Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani and criticized state administration for restricting the movement of Huriiyat leaders including Shabir Ahmad Shah, National Front chairman Nayeem Ahmad Khan,,Mohammad Ahraf Sehrai,Er Farooq Ahmad Khan scores of party activists.
