Shah reacts to Mehbooba Mufti’s press conference

‘Your remarks smack of ignorance, lack of common sense’

Srinagar, Aug 25 (KNS): Reacting against the assertions made by Indian home minister Rajnath Singh and J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti in a joint press conference on Thursday, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah said Mehbooba by resorting to rhetoric of her “5 percent and 95 percent” remark is only “misleading the world opinion”.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah said if Mehbooba is sure that 95 percent people are with her then what is the fun of putting the resistance leadership behind bars and placing a blanket ban on their activities.
“If there is any self-respect remained of Mehbooba and her likes, they should, in their constituencies, prove their mettle without any military assistance and allow the resistance leadership to organise public gatherings. Everything will be crystal clear,” he said.
He condemned Mehbooba’s remarks that by “banishing” the infamous ‘Task Force’ in J&K, she did a great service to people. “Contrary to her claims, the PDP turned every police station of the State into a Task Force centre and by doing so it did a great disservice to the people and even inflicted deep wounds on them,” he said.
“Mehbooba’s remarks only reveal her ignorance and lack of common sense. Ever since she achieved power, she has been uttering whatever non-sense she could, and is living in a fool’s paradise that people of Jammu Kashmir cannot differentiate between truth and falsehood. Or she is doing all this to protect the chair bestowed upon her by New Delhi and Nagpur,” Shah added.
Suggesting Mufti not to “scare or intimidate us”, Shabir Ahmad Shah said: “The people of Jammu Kashmir won’t succumb now.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelMehbooba must read the history as she is bereft of any knowledge regarding the Kashmir issue. At least, she must be cognisant of the fact that to suppress the resolve and freedom sentiments of Kashmiris is impossible. The world is keenly observing the Kashmir situation and the reign of oppression and state-sponsored terrorism unleashed by Indian occupational forces upon the people. This is a blot on the face of PDP.”
The DFP chairman said Mehbooba has “crossed all limits” in “deceiving” people while reminding her not to forget that she is “just another servant of New Delhi”. “Now instead of commenting on Kashmir issue, she must realise her worth and be concerned of her party the roots of which are shaking,” he said.
Commenting on Rajnath Singh’s remarks wherein he hailed Indian forces for “saving lives “ of Kashmiri people during 2014 floods, Shah termed it “misleading”. “The show of unity and generosity exhibited by the people of Kashmir during 2104 floods is hidden from none. Kashmiris helped themselves. The people from rural areas supported those in Srinagar with whatever means possible. Indian forces were nowhere in sight,” he said.
Shah reiterated that pellets or jobs are not issues for Kashmiris who only demand the right to decide their political future. “Nothing less than freedom is acceptable for us,” Shah said.
“Aur haa, Kashmir ke har ghar me computer jaise khilone bikhre pade hai; apne computer aur laptop apne pass hi rehne do,” Shah reacted to Rajnath Singh’s “reiterated” remarks. (KNS)
