Terms the arrest of a 10-year-old boy as “extreme of the brutality, state terrorism”

Srinagar, Mar 26 (KNS): The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabir Ahmad Shah, on Saturday paid tributes to Shaheed Advocate Jaleel Andrabi, Shaheed Ishfaq Majeed Wani, Shaheed Dr Abdul Ahad Guru, and Shaheed Shabir Sidiqi.
In a statement to KNS, Shah said, “Shaheed Ishfaq Majeed Wani in his brief lifetime made the whole Kashmir rise against the Indian forcible occupation and became the inspiration for thousands, in no time. He is a hero of our freedom movement whose sacrifices are invaluable. History remembers him in golden words.”
Paying tributes to Shaheed Advocate Jaleel Andrabi, Shah said, “Indian rulers are responsible for his killing. He was martyred in army custody and Indian rulers, instead of bringing the culprit Colonel Avtar to book, did everything to protect him. As such, the human rights abuses committed by Indian forces were covered up. Shaheed Andrabi was an intellectual and a great personality who had dedicated his life to expose the human rights violations perpetrated by Indian occupational forces in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Shah said Shaheed Dr Abdul Ahad Guru, apart from being a renowned doctor, “was a hero of our freedom movement and ultimately sacrificed his life for the noble and great cause”.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“Shaheed Shabir Sidiqi belonged to a religious family and he will always be remembered for his contribution to Islam and Kashmir’s freedom struggle,” he said.
Remembering all the martyrs of Kashmir, Shabir Ahmad Shah said Kashmiris are committed to the martyrs’ mission “which will be accomplished at any cost”. “We are indebted to the sacrifices of our lakhs of martyrs and we will never succumb to the oppressive and suppressive policies of India and its occupational forces,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shah termed the arrest of a 10-year-old boy of Nowhatta and registering of FIR against him as “extreme of the brutality and state terrorism” and demanded the minor’s immediate release.
He appealed the Amnesty International and human rights organisations to take cognisance of the minor boy’s arrest and use their influence in securing his release.
He also expressed concern over the missing of two children in Seer Hamdan, Mattan of south Kashmir’s Islamabad district, saying, “The situation has taken a worse turn.” (KNS)
