Srinagar, May 18 (KNS): The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Wednesday telephonically addressed a condolence meeting organised in favour of Shaheed Farooq Ahmad Sheikh who was martyred in Nazneenpora, Pulwama.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah paid tributes to the martyr and said their sacred blood will yield results very soon.
DFP district president Shopian Tanveer Ahmad led a delegation to Nazneenpora and expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family.
In his telephonic address, Shabir Ahmad Shah while paying homage to Shaheed Farooq Ahmad Sheikh reiterated the pledge of taking the martyrs’ mission forward. He also talked to father of the martyr and hailed the people for their pro-freedom stance. “In the battle of truth and falsehood, truth always prevailed and falsehood is destined to perish,” he said in his address.
Terming the unity among people and pro-freedom camp as “vital” to take the ongoing resistance movement to its logical conclusion, Shah said, “We are facing numerous challenges from India and its local collaborators and we need to tackle these in a unified manner.”
Shah also expressed grief over the martyrdom of mujahid Shaheed Bilal Ahmad Bhat alias Molvi of Tangmarg and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. (KNS)
