Srinagar, Jan 24 (KNS): The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Tuesday expressed solidarity with the family of Muzaffar Ahmad Rather who has been sentenced to death by a Kolkata court.
As per a statement issued to KNS, on Shah’s directions, a party delegation led by district president Kulgam Bashir Ahmad Wani visited the family of Muzaffar and assured them that “whole nation is on your back”.
The Freedom Party also termed the awarding of death sentence to Muzaffar Ahmad Rather and two others as “murder of justice and law”.
Meanwhile, a delegation of pellet victims visited Shabir Ahmad Shah at his residence. During the meeting, Shah told the victims that they will not be left at the mercy of the so-called government and that steps will be taken to rehabilitate them.
“Even the APHC chairman Syed Ali Geelani Sahib, who is under continuous house arrest, is extremely concerned about the issue (of pellet victims).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWe have also appealed the affluent families to come forward in this regard,” Shah told the delegation and assured them of every possible support.
Meanwhile, on the demise of brother in law of Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar, a party delegation led by Molvi Sajad Ahmad visited Acchabal, Islamabad to express condolence with the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul.
The party also that its member Ishfaq Kotwal of Islamabad was a couple of days ago arrested by police and taken to undisclosed location. “Despite such unabated arrest spree, the freedom movement will be taken to its logical end,” the spokesperson said, adding, “People are feeling suffocated by the reign of oppression unleashed by the state.” (KNS)
