Srinagar, Dec 18 (KNS): The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Sunday congratulated the Chief Editor, The Daily Greater Kashmir, Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo for being elected as the president of Kashmir Editor’s Guild.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah expressed hope that the representatives and members of the guild will fulfill their responsibilities by acting as spokespersons of the downtrodden people of Jammu Kashmir.
“By acting as the spokespersons of the people of the State, the newly elected president and other members of the guild can take their profession to the heights of success,” Shah said.
Shah said there is no doubt that our intellectuals and writers are playing a commendable role in shaping the revolution and much more is expected from them vis-à-vis mitigating the sufferings of people.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile, Shabir Ahmad Shah expressed serious concern over the continuous arrest of Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Syeda Aasiya Andrabi saying, “Even after the court ordered her release, the so-called champions of democracy and human rights are hell bent on keeping her behind bars thereby validating the point that they are nothing but puppets of New Delhi.”
“The lackadaisical attitude on part of the champions of humanity and justice in this regard is extremely unfortunate. Why don’t they realize that the incarcerated leader has an ailing son who needs his mother at this hour? This is extremely shameful on part of the so-called rulers,” Shah said. (KNS)
